Why do some people love math and it is as easy as a pie for them, while some others struggle with the simplest of the problems?

Well, let us discover the secret behind this difference in intellectual capacity of various people.

The basic difference lies in how one trains his mind. Mind is the most adaptive organ which can be trained to do wonders. This is the secret of the different intellectual capabilities of people which I have talked about.

What I’m trying to tell you here is that what you focus on, you attract.

Focus on success and you attract success. Focus on fear and failure and you attract failure. Focus on Math, and soon you will be playing with the numbers.

How is training one’s mind related to Mathematics? Mathematics is one subject which is feared by many. But in today’s competitiveness, it is very important for our youth to conquer their fear of math and win over it to be able to stand out. This intensive training deals with the intricacies of the subject and makes it easy and fun and it also trains our minds accordingly.

So how can we use this reality in our lives? By focusing daily on what you desire. This system consists of easily learned techniques that help you focus and direct your thoughts. If we train our mind to do calculations faster, it will get acquainted with this practice and get better at it eventually. Applying these concepts to mathematics has given tremendous positive results.

Let us consider a very small example.

Vinita can type 28 words per minute. She types for 5 hours in a day. She takes various breaks of different time intervals in between. At this rate, how many words can Vinita type in 5.5 minutes?

Considering this question, in Math Olympiad training, the students are taught to analyze the question from all aspects. Segregate the important information from the non-important ones and to solve the problem in the shortest time possible. There are various tips and tricks given to the students which are also helpful for them in their academics otherwise. These tricks when taught at a very young age are advantageous as the child gets used to using them in everyday practice. Imagine a grown-up being taught a completely new way of solving the same problems with some new but easy techniques. It becomes very difficult to remember and to put them into practice. So it is always advisable to teach our young ones these tips and tricks at a very young age for better results. It develops the logical and analytical reasoning in a child. It also simulates their mind and prepares them for faster and accurate calculations.

The Math Olympiad whether Regional, National or International level, is as competitive as it can get. Just the school math will not help you out do your competition. To be competitive enough for the Math Olympiad, at these levels you need to do focussed preparation and testing of both basic Math concepts and Olympiad Math concepts.
