Food has always been a source of turning back to the history and giving us immense satisfaction and happiness. It has never failed to bring people together and promote family tradition. It is a sign of cultural identity and fond memories.
But sometimes the culinary tradition fails to match the pace of time. The reason might include; lack of ingredients which are difficult to procure nowadays or the change in society and its life-styles. Even Chhattisgarh has a wide range of cuisines which are available at rural areas but are hardly available in the urban society.
Gadh Kaleva is a place in the heart of the Chhattisgarh state’s capital Raipur within the premises of Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum. Where, more than three dozen varieties of traditional cuisines are available. The restaurant was established on 26th of January, 2016 under the aegis of the Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, Cultural Minister Dayaldas Baghel and other eminent guests.
The cuisines are made by the team from Danganiya, Raipur named Monish Food. Who even catter traditional food at various auspicious occasions. The ambiance of the restaurant gives a brief introduction of the artistic culture and tradition of Chhattisgarh.
Lips smacking cuisines like Chausela, Hathhfodwa, Farra, Peedhiya, Muthhiya, Deharuri, Papchi Puran Laddu, Kari Laddu, Angakar Roti, Bafori, Babra, Gulgula, Cheela and many other mouth watering cuisines are presented. Though the restaurant serves exotic food (Chhattisgarhi Delight) the prices are pocket friendly.
In a nutshell, Gadh Kaleva is the place where we can relish and rediscover the food and tradition that has scattered into the pages of history.
