What is the importance of money and the role it plays in one’s life?

In spirituality, they say one should not think of money, one should not have more money. This is a wrong concept. Every human needs money in life.

Waste your money and you’re only out of money, but waste your time and you’ve lost a part of your life. – Michael Leboeuf

Every human needs to eat food, every human needs shelter, every human has to do so many activities.

What is required is money.

Just because you’re following the path of spirituality which I think every human should follow.

Not respecting money would be wrong. For example, given in Ramayana, raja Janak was a great Yogi but he was a king and he was living like a king. Wearing all the jewels and everything that doesn’t make him a king. He is not spiritual or materialistic.

Understand when you’re attached to something then you’re gone. But if money is there you can use it. Understand one point thoroughly well. A person has to respect money.

A person has to live a spiritual path.

Both are going together.

People say money can’t buy happiness. You don’t get happiness with money.

You can’t buy love.

Money can’t buy faith, hunger, sleep, time, peace.

All this money can’t buy.

Money isn’t important

In Vedas, it is mentioned that everyone needs money for survival

and money is given that status of god in our culture.

Laxmiji represents money, Laxmiji talks about ‘mangal’, ‘shubh’, ‘labh’.

Money is required. So all this shows that money is important and we have to respect money.

Do you know how much cash you are carrying right now in your pocket?

Do you know how much you have spent precisely for this whole month?

Do you make budget plans for the month and follow them religiously?

Do you know where you have kept your last bill of purchase

All these questions will tell you how much you respect money.

Understand, money has its limitations. We have to bring balance between all the other activities and earning money.

Spending day and night earning money is wrong.

And not giving importance to other aspects is equally wrong.

So we have to bring balance.

In these 24 hours, how much time should I spend in earning money, how much time for other activities, we should be clear about it.

This argument that money can’t buy this and that is fine. But we should know what money can buy.

Money can buy basic comforts for a life

In today’s space, you can buy a comfortable living house. You may have the strength to breathe in, but the air is not in your control.

Only money can buy you a residential place of pure and natural health. You may choose to have the right food habits, calories.

Only money can buy you quality foodgrains & materials.

You may choose to have a child, but only money can buy you a good school and all the infrastructure.

So, money buys you the basics. So not ignore it, respect it!

Money helps you to pursue your dreams.

To dream, you don’t require any money, but to pursue your dreams you need money.

I know a person who wanted to go for a higher study, but because of lack of money, he couldn’t do that.

He couldn’t take admission for higher studies.

So, money can buy your resources to fulfill your passion, to fulfill your dreams, and to fulfill your fascination.

Money can buy security in life

It can make you fearless, and remove the worry about the future.

Money can help you to live in the present.

The availability of cash in your pocket ensures that you are not getting fluctuated by the fluctuation of the market standard.

When the financial crisis comes, the rich don’t get affected; rather they go on a shopping spree.

Security is something that poor people struggle with.

For your comforts, dreams, and security the money is the only thing in life??

No. Your lifestyle, attitude, health, relatives, relations, and the people around you are involved to make you happy and healthy.

You should know the drawbacks of just concentrating on money and ignoring all the other aspects. You should know not giving more importance to money and spending more time on other activities are also wrong.

How to manage money in your daily life?

Let us understand this concept.

There is a formula &  ratio here.

1:2:1.

And the formula is that after you have completed your existential needs. The money which is left has to be divided in a 1:2:1 ratio.

Whatever you are earning in your life, use only 50%, half of that in your day-to-day activities.

One-fourth you should keep it for the future as security.

One-fourth you should use for the good of humanity.

The remaining one-fourth that you are giving to society is so much important because society is helping us in our life.

So we have to see that all good things in society are supported.

And so here we should contribute to the world with our money.

Somehow we should respect money. We should try and see that we use money systematically. We use it to help others, to see that society progresses.

One doing duty towards yourself near and dear society, nation, humanity. And if this formula is kept in mind you would be living life perfectly. So, take charge of yourself.
