I’m excited about today’s topic which is The Fear of Speaking English.

I always ask people a question,

what are your fears? 

Because 

You must understand what are your fears, that are stopping you from trying even once.

So if you think you have the same feeling and you are the only ones who feel that way, not at all the fear of speaking in English or any other foreign language is far more common than you might think but do not worry about it because, in this article, we will be talking about Five Common Fears of Speaking English in Public.

It applies to all the languages you might be learning.

We are going to talk about the English language.

Five Common Fears of Speaking English in Public:-

  1. People laugh at you a lot of times. They don’t want to try because they are so hesitant that their confidence level is low. They think that if we speak in English they are going to make fun of me.
  2. You feel anxiety when you try to speak, become nervous, start shivering or all of a sudden go blank. This is all because of your anxious nature. You are overthinking about doing something.
  3. What if you get stuck or don’t know any words to substitute or you don’t have a huge vocabulary.
  4. People being judgmental, a lot of time you assume that people are gonna judge me even when we try speaking English.
  5. What if you do speak but you commit mistakes while speaking. A mistake can be a grammatical mistake, pronunciations mistake, as, different countries have a different accent and it’s not necessarily that you catch their accent right away 

So these are the five common fears that prevent people from trying to speak in English.

You can start at any level because by gradually taking one step and second step and you know eventually you’ll be able to speak confidently so it just needs you to take that one step.

I hope you can identify your fears and once you know your fear the next step is to wait to find ways to overcome and to know more about the ways to work on the fear.
