Wagons Limited (BSE: 532966|NSE: TWL), is the flagship company of Titagarh Group. It is a leading Indian player in the design and manufacture of modern passenger and freight rolling stock.
It has been a pioneer in achieving this big milestone.
Titagarh is an acquisition of its Italian subsidiary Titagarh Firema in Italy. It is equipped with the technology for metro trains and also semi-high-speed trains. It has been catering to the European market for several decades.
The first two trains arrived from (Titagarh Firema) TFA Italy and the remaining trains are being manufactured in India at TWL factory, Kolkata.
The upgraded plant in West Bengal’s Uttarpara is state-of-the-art and fully compliant with industry 4.0 standards. Titagarh is a strong believer in the Government’s “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” policies.
It has, therefore, strived to indigenize several critical components such as bogie frames, interiors, and brake systems for these trains and is proud to report its success in doing the same.
These trains are energy-efficient, sustainable, of long life, and require very low maintenance.
Maha-Metro has started Metro train service on two routes in Pune – a 12km stretch from PCMC to Phugewadi and Vanaz to Garware College.
According to officials, Maha-Metro has placed an order for 34 trains each with three-car compositions (total of 102 cars), manufactured by Consortium of TWL India and TFA Italy for the Pune Metro service.
