Right ways and methods of fasting during festivals.
As you are entering a change in season demands a stronger and cleaner body. Hence fasting prepares your body for the seasonal change. This is the reason that it is celebrated twice a year once at the beginning of summer and the second, at the beginning of winter.
Fasting occasionally during the festival is good for your digestive system and all other organs. The extra energy saved due to the absence of the digestive process during fasting is felt on healing and detoxification. Regular fasting is not at all recommended by yoga as it would damage your body systems.

A person should be mindful before fasting. Make sure your body is used to the foods that you are going to consume during fasting in festivals. If you are diabetic then eat slow-release carbs before and during fasting. This will keep your blood sugar level in check.
Slow-released carbs are rolled oats, quinoa, sweet potatoes, carrot, yam, chickpeas, apple, pears, oranges, strawberries, and grapes. Fasting is not for all pregnant women, children, alcoholics, people with eye disorders, tuberculosis, diarrhea, dysentery.
A healthy person can have all kinds of fruits, vegetables, and dairy products during fasting. Remember, fasting is to detox your body hence avoid refined grains and cereals. Avoid fried and oily food during fasting. The preferable method of cooking is grilling, boiling, steaming, roasting, baking, etc.
Avoid excess chili, spices, over oily preparation.
Limit physical activity during the fasting period. But during the non-fasting period. Make sure that you walk at least 15 to 20 mins after meals.
