Mental Health Awareness with Bandana Mohta Jhanwar

“LOCKDOWN”- Use it or Waste it. Have a look at what @bandanajhanwar has got to say about anxiety & depression faced during the pandemic. “It’s a period of a lot of discomforts and at the same time rest with the lockdown across the globe.

For youngsters who have been constantly doing stuff sitting at home can be very unnerving and having to deal with parents or grandparents extended family members the entire day without going out anywhere.

The usual resort for all people is being on the phone or laptop watching Netflix, Amazon, or television channels, and if you’re fear-driven then many news channels know the latest scenarios.

My recommendation would be a little different from all of this:

1. Watch news, not more than once a day maximum of half an hour is enough to get an update of what’s going on.

2. It’s good to co-operate with the family members volunteering for home jobs at least an hour of the day to not just help your parents with daily chores but also to feel good and be appreciated by them.

3. Indoor games of some kind like carrom, playing cards for a while after dinner, etc.

4. If at all you got to watch TV etc comedy and humor is a good genre to follow.

5. Basic exercising at home along with simple breathwork/meditation for 20 mins.

6. Doodling, reading, writing, sketching, painting, singing, dancing are some forms of uplifting moods.

7. Gardening and brisk walking in nature with your head high and sight straight, erect back for a while can do wonders.

8. Connecting to friends via video calls and doing anything creative and constructive together is fun.

9. Writing a Gratitude Journal every day with 3 new things to be grateful for at the end of the day.

10. Sleeping well and eating healthy also is essential requirements for your immunity to be well taken care of.

When anxiety and panic go overboard, my recommendation would be to opt for online healing/ therapy sessions.”
