After the great success of “The Kashmir Files”, Director Vivek Agnihotri announces his next movie, “The Delhi Files”.
The Kashmir Files is based on video interviews of the first-generation victims of the exodus which took place in Kashmir in the 1990s. The movie has emerged as the biggest blockbuster in the Covid-19 pandemic era. It became the first film during the pandemic to hit the Rs 200-crore mark. Now, the film is all set to make it to an Over-the-Top (OTT) platform soon. The news was announced by the director of the movie, Vivek Agnihotri. It will debut on the streamer Zee5.
Vivek Agnihotri’s tweet, “I thank all the people who owned #TheKashmirFiles. For the last four years, we worked very hard with utmost honesty & sincerity. I may have spammed your TL but it’s important to make people aware of the GENOCIDE & injustice done to Kashmiri Hindus. It’s time for me to work on a new film (sic),” was followed by #Delhifiles, hinting about his next feature film.
Previously on September, announcing the movie, he said, ” Happy to announce the last and the boldest of the trilogy: The Delhi Files- Right to Life”. He further added “Hiding truth, denying justice and no value of human life are blots on our democracy. The Delhi Files is my boldest and exposes a gut-wrenching tale of our times. Starting shoot soon in Hindi and Punjabi.”
However, the plot of the movie is still suspenseful.
Although rumors are circulating that The Delhi Files would be based on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and the Delhi riots which happened in 2020.
