The new Barbie Signature figurine showcases a beautiful blend of traditional Indian elements. Dressed in a vibrant “Moonlight Bloom” outfit, the doll features a patterned lehenga skirt, a floral vest known as a koti, and a chic cropped choli top. Adorned with dahlias, jasmine, and the Indian lotus—symbols of strength and beauty—this exquisite ensemble reflects the essence of Indian culture.

To enhance the festive spirit, Barbie is accessorized with sparkling earrings and gold bangles, designed to mirror the radiant lights of Diwali. Mattel emphasizes that Dongre’s artistic vision merges modern aesthetics with traditional craftsmanship, celebrating the rich heritage of Indian fashion.

In a statement, Anita Dongre expressed her excitement: “In celebration of Diwali, Barbie and I are both encouraging fans around the world to celebrate the beautiful heritage of Indian fashion and culture.” Dongre also shared her personal connection to the doll, revealing, “I didn’t have a chance to own a Barbie as it wasn’t available in India when I was a kid. But it’s an incredible feeling to get to design my own Barbie. This doll is my first one, and it’s so very special to finally own a Barbie I designed!”
