Ruchi Krishna – a fashion blogger and a classical dancer from Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
My journey in dance started when I was very young, I still remember my first day when I joined dance class at the age of 6, I didn’t have any idea about it but I had a thing for dance and loved to dance from a very young age. Watching me, and my footsteps moving at that smaller age my parents decided to make me join a Bharatanatyam class.
I’m thankful for their decision and feel blessed. Now I have been learning Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi for the past 15 years. And above all, I have done more than 100 shows all over India and abroad.
I have won several national and international awards from prestigious festivals and shows. But with time I realized many people majorly teenagers or our young generation don’t value our Indian art. I have heard a lot from my friends that this dance form or this art is too boring, they don’t understand the beauty of this art and how much effort it takes.’
I agree that but it’s not that difficult, these are the basic dance movements that are something we use in our daily life and we never notice that. Dance is just a way to convey feelings and emotions.
The dance is considered as a stress reliever, whenever you are stressed or there is a bit of depression in your mind, try moving your food, try listening to music, it relaxes your soul and makes you euphoric and blissful. I am blessed that I know the art form which makes me feel happy.
I love to showcase my art form through all social media and make them aware of what we’re missing today. Respect our country and its culture, believe me, once you’ll get to know it there is no way coming out of it.
