When life gives you lemons, make lemonades. This is the common saying but very few are able to prove that. Being a homemaker it becomes difficult to follow your dreams.
Being an aircraft maintenance engineer and working full time in New Delhi it became very frustrating to sit idle at home and do only household chores after marriage.
Art and craft was my hobby so I started doing it just to pass the melancholy time . Then I started gifting my works for free from where I got the idea to convert it into profession.
Few tips I want to give specially for the women who want to break the glass ceiling which has been surrounding them in form of orthodox beliefs.
1. Believe in yourself that you can do something in life and this is the most important factor – knowing yourself.
2. For doing something extra you need to come out of your comfort zone and keep the nagging aside that I have family I have kids and all so I can’t do anything. Giving my example I also live in a joint family and have two kids apart from doing all the household works and teaching them I do takes out some time for my works.
3. Consistency is the key. Keep learning new things on daily basis and keep practising old skills on regular basis because hard work beats talent only when consistency is there.
4. You will get people who will always try to pull you down by their negativity. The moral is to keep your head and heels high in all the situations.
